In Italian, Gelato simply means “frozen.” For anyone who has been to Italy or visited our store, it means so much more. Gelato has an intense and dense flavor that cannot be matched by American style ice cream.
Our gelato is lower in fat than ice cream, allowing your mouth to taste the true flavors. We do not whip extra air into the gelato as in ice cream and our gelato is not as cold as ice cream. It melts fast, eat up.
We make gelato and sorbetto the traditional way using high quality, natural ingredients. The majority of those ingredients are grown or made right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Chocolate from Scharffen Berger Chocolate Maker in Berkeley and Guittard Chocolates in Burlingame. Espresso Beans from Mr. Espresso in Oakland.
Other ingredients are imported from around the world - Maccha green tea from Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Vanilla beans from Madagascar.
All of our sorbetto is made from fresh fruit that is at the height of its season and predominantly grown locally. At Gelateria H&M we do not use artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.Questions? Comments?
